Philosophy

Susie Brown's Bakery is a tasty mixture of Southern traditions with modern, big-city twists. Growing up in Kentucky, we're able to incorporate that undeniable flavor into everything we do- whether it is a kiss of Bourbon, that extra slab of butter, or just the recipe for love and southern hospitality that can't be shared! A love for food was embedded from a young age, and it truly was a source of comfort growing up. Food could bring together any group of people, fix any bad day, and change a feeling or mood with just one bite or smell. It was the happiness and unity that food represented that snagged chef Kimberly's heart. Bonding over stoves, ovens, grills, recipes, and even grocery stores are still the fondest of young memories.  We regularly reminisce on trying to flip an egg with Mom, manning the grill with Dad, and a lot of cakes, cornbreads, and homemade jam with family members.

While our heart is in baking and desserts, we make our way in the savory department as well! You'll find, as you follow us, our passion is just great food that makes people smile. We like to think of ourselves as a double threat- bakers who can cook! With such versatility, we are a great fit for all small catering events! Online for now, but we dream of a day that we have a homey place that can offer a delicious breakfast, lunch, dinner, and most definitely dessert!
